One Million Hybrids
Celebrating a Milestone
Since releasing the first luxury hybrid with the RX in 2005, Lexus can report over 1 Million Hybrids have sold to loving customers around the world. To celebrate, Alain Uyttenhoven, the head of Lexus Europe, delivered a new NX 300h in Milan to a lucky customer. As of the end of March, in only 11 years the number of units sold hit approximately 1,000,600.
As part of its company approach, Lexus has always looked to raise the bar, and has done so in the Hybrid market with the Lexus Hybrid Drive. Utilizing a perfectly balanced drive between an advanced electrical motor and a powerful gasoline engine, the Lexus Hybrid Drive perfectly balances between the two creating an extremely fuel-efficient line-up.
Sales By Region and Model
The most popular region for hybrids is North America with just under 350,000 units sold since 2005. Europe follows right behind with nearly 250,000 units, and right behind is Japan with 225,000 units. The most popular model currently being sold is the RX with 335,000 units sold since 2005, followed closely by the CT at 267,000 units. Other models like the ES, HS, NX, and GS with their introductions have started to build their numbers respectively.
